Different Scaffolding Types

Within the scaffolding industry there are seven major types. Certain types of scaffolding that should be used depends on multiple factors such as height of structure, where work on structure is required, whether structure itself. Other types are more universally accepted from a standards point of view

Main types of scaffolding:

1. Wooden and Bamboo
2. Systems 
3. Frame and Brace
4. Mast Climbing
5. Tube and Clip
6. Shoring
7. Swinging/Suspended

As most types are accepted, you might find that a certain scaffolding type is more readily used than another. This can be down to a few factors but let us use the regional example for here in England.

In England we tend to use tube and clip scaffolding. This is because the material required is readily available. If you were to go further up north into Scotland, they would use a specific system method called Kwikstage.
